JERVIS BAY

Jervis Bay is a town on the coast with a population of 3500, located 180 km south of Sydney, approximately 2.5 hrs driving.

Jervis Bay measures about 15 km from north to south and about 10 km across.

It’s renowned for it’s huge kingfish population taken by spearfishermen up to 40 kg, the average between 12 to 18 kg and the occasional Black Marlin speared up to 120 kg. During the summer season good size dolphin fish also swim around the fisheries Fad.

Along the coastline underneath the cliff faces you will also encounter all your basic reef species in big numbers like Bream, Tarwine, Black Drummer, Luderick, Red and Blue Morwong, Australian salmon, Tasmanian Trumpeter, Goatfish and lots more.

Although you will still be able to spear reef fish,  these day trips to the Jervis bay region are aimed at targeting Kingfish along the coast and offshore.

We also run two day weekend trips during the summer season.

The visibility varies from 10 to 35 meters.
